Downtown Salt Lake City sits right next to a mountain and with the right vantage point you can get some great shots of the city. I wanted to get up high enough on the city so I could look out and see the lights! It was really neat to be able to see all of that… and if you’ve have ever been to Salt Lake City, then you know about the smog condition they have. Well… even at night you can see the smog weigh in on the city! After having taken some night photos of the city, I went down by the Capitol Building to get some interesting shots! Here are some of my favorite that I took:
Absolutely gorgeous night photos!
They really turned out I think… I’m glad I took the time to drive up t here at night to get some shots!
The last one is my favorite! Awesome.
That one is my favorite too! I just about didn’t want to edit any others after that one was done.
How did you get that cool star on the top of the rotunda? What was your aperture and shutter speed? I may just have to try to get some shots of the monuments, etc. at night in D.C.! Very inspiring, Dustin
They had a light shining up there on the top, but you’re right, the aperture that helped get the the star effect and I think the HDR exposures helped bring it out too! I can’t wait to see what you get while you’re in D.C. at Photoshop World! I’m not jealous AT ALL.
