Growing up, anytime we traveled anywhere it was to see extended family. Which was great and I love those memories, but this was the first time my family went on an adventure! We spent a week exploring the Nation’s Capitol in Washington DC and barely even scratched the surface. We were able to see:
United States Capitol
Library of Congress
Bureau of Printing & Engraving
Space & Air Smithsonian (both)
Natural History Smithsonian
Jefferson Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
Spy Museum
Battleship Wisconsin (Norfolk, VA)
Colonial Williamsburg
and probably something else.
This trip will truly be a highlight for the year (without a doubt) and probably for many more to come. I hope that this sparks more adventures with my family because I loved making memories as adults, and not as kids stuck in the car for hours.
