The Story

Pompeii, Italy has to be one the most well preserved versions of history I have ever seen. A city covered in volcanic ash shares just one of the ways of the Italian way of life. Today we take for granted indoor plumbing and sewers, but Pompei’s ingenuity in their attempt to have “indoor conveniences” is truly a marvel. Even more so when you consider just how much deteration hasn’t happened to everything that is left behind since that volcanic blast.

After learning about the lifestyle of those who lived during the heyday of Pompeii, all I can say is, some things never change. Haha!

Aside from the heat and humidity – a walk around Pompeii was worth it and very interesting to see a city frozen in time. Well. Not frozen, but… heated in time?
