BYU-Idaho. | The New Pulpit in our beautiful auditorium
17 January 2011 • 5:21 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 50MM | F/ 1.8 – 1/20 | ISO: 1600 | EV: 0
This is the front side of the new pulpit in the BYU-Idaho center. When I was able to get in and take some shots, the lights were very low, but I loved the effect it gave on the front of this. The light you see on this is actually reflecting off of another source which gives it this very subtle look. I thought it turned out pretty well.
Editing:
I used camera raw to adjust the lighting and color balance. I enhanced the colors just slightly and added a lens vignette. In Photoshop I sharpened it just a little and dehazed it as well. There wasn’t much I could do with it. I had my ISO all the way up so I could get as clear and in focus shots as I could in such low lighting.

BYU-Idaho. | The Stage
17 January 2011 • 5:27 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 50MM | F/ 1.8 – 1/30 | ISO: 1600 | EV: 0
From the mezzanine looking at the stage, this shot just turned out so well. It’s so hard to think of having such a remarkable building right here in Rexburg, Idaho. It makes me proud to come here and actually give the sense of belonging to a real college.
Editing:
Same as above.

BYU-Idaho. | The Stage. Crooked.
17 January 2011 • 5:28 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 50MM | F/ 1.8 – 1/30 | ISO: 1600 | EV: 0
This shot was inspired by an accident. My first attempt at getting a shot of the stage from where I was standing was crooked. After looking at it for a bit I decided that I kind of liked the idea and thought I would go all the way with a crooked shot. I think this angle gives everything a whole new feel.

Front and Center. | Looking out at 15,000 seats.
17 January 2011 • 5:19 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 50MM | F/ 1.8 – 1/20 | ISO: 1600 | EV: 0
From this angle I was thinking I could get a panorama of the place, but the lighting was making it extremely difficult. However, I did manage to get this shot which I really liked. However often do you get to see from behind where everyone else seems to be looking.

Portal O. | The way in!
17 January 2011 • 5:03 pm | Rexburg, Idaho
Canon Rebel XS | 50MM | F/ 1.8 – 1/25 | ISO: 800 | EV: 0
This is portal “O” and I took this shot because my last name starts with an “O.” It took me a while to find all the letters in my initials because of the weird way that they decided to letter all the doors. But, I was able to find them all, don’t worry.
Editing:
Same as above. I did however add some more red and orange to the wall to get the colors to pop.
