The Fall of The House of Usher – Edgar Allen Poe
The Fall of The House of Usher was one of Edgar Allen Poe’s famous short stories. A story in which a brother buried his sister alive in the basement of their home. The sister scratches her way out of the coffin in which she was buried and seeks to find her brother out of anger! This is a new book cover concept based on the events of the story. It’s a little creepy and unlike anything I have ever done before. But I like that it was challenge of my skills and a way to broaden my focus of things I can do in Photoshop! What do you...

The original of this photo was taken inside the Las Vegas Venetian! I love this place – they have done such an amazing job with the architecture that you actually feel as if you are actually touring Venice. The idea behind this creative work was to use the history brush and make a photograph look more like a painting. This was done a lot in the early stages of photography as the art of a photograph was rejected by society. Photographers started to take their photos and then alter them so that they looked more like paintings than a photograph. Applying creative Photoshop filters through...

Based on the inspired “Project 365″ – I did a 12 day Photo Journal. It is always a challenge to go out each day – no matter how busy your day is – and make a quality photograph. I wish there was always time in the day to go somewhere and take at least one photo for the sake of a photo journal.

I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY! This is me and a lot of my gear in front of my green screen! This is a self-portrait that I wanted to show how hard it is to handle a lot of new equipment all at the same time! Not to mention in front of a wrinkled green screen. This is probably one of my favorites right now!

These photos were taken by assignment for the ART 160 class. It has taken me a while to get these up – and in case any wonders. I did get a solid “A” in the class. Most of these photos were used in my “Grand” Portfolio at the end.

This is my Junior Mints Product Redesign presentation that I gave in front of my peers. This was such a fun project and one that certainly stretched my creative skills and print design techniques. I spent approximately 25 total hours working on this project from start to completion. During that time, I changed my overall design and look of my project twice before coming up with my final idea and design. I hope you like what you see! I received full points on this project (50 out of 50)! This is a flat version of my box that appeared in my style guide. This is the advertisement that was...

Junior Mints Product Redesign by Dustin Olsen This is my Junior Mints product redesign that I did for my Advanced Visual Media class at BYU-Idaho. This project certainly pushed some of my limits in print design. Learning how to design for a package that is to be folded and printed is a challenge and you have to pay attention to several aspects of what you are doing. In the end, I believe I spent close to 25 hours on this project so that it was near perfection… at least to my standards. My dad always likes to ask me at the end of big projects, “Now that it is done, what...

My roommate is a golf nut and had a bunch of golf balls and tees and even the box they came in. So I decided to blend these together and make an advertisement type deal with Wilson Golf balls. I really liked out it turned out. I didn’t want to do a border on this one because I really didn’t want to deal with it covering anything up and making a lot of changes to this just for a border.Editing:I scanned in 4 other images. One with just...
