Photo Composite – Photoshop

Doing photo composites in Photoshop can be a lot of fun! The image below has taken me about 15 hours to complete – plus the time to take each of these photos used in the composite. It’s a lot of time for one photo, and I’m grateful I had the time to do it, but it really pushed my Photoshop skills to a new level in attempting to complete the composite. The easy part was getting all of the photos together into one and to get a basic idea of what it could look like. The hard part was thinking of all the little details to add to the realism of the final product. The things that...

The Fall of The House of Usher – Edgar Allen Poe

The Fall of The House of Usher was one of Edgar Allen Poe’s famous short stories. A story in which a brother buried his sister alive in the basement of their home. The sister scratches her way out of the coffin in which she was buried and seeks to find her brother out of anger! This is a new book cover concept based on the events of the story. It’s a little creepy and unlike anything I have ever done before. But I like that it was challenge of my skills and a way to broaden my focus of things I can do in Photoshop! What do you...

Night Photography

These really don’t have much a place on my website, but they were fun to take and I think they turned out. The ones of the smoke stacks are pretty much right out of the camera. I only adjust the exposure and saturation of the photo. These next two photos are of my car. They are 30 second exposures outside. I was working with my film camera but decided I would get a couple of these! I am pleased with how well they have turned out. The one of exterior of the car need a lot of color correction to get it to look like I wanted it to. Then I kind of turned it into an Ad by adding some text to...

Farm Truck – Before and After Light Painting

Here is another light painting I did with Caryn Esplin and Kris Fryer. They are so much fun to go out with and shoot with. We have had a such a great time and this night we got a ton of images to work with! We couldn’t figure it out… we got more shots, in less time, and we made it back to Rexburg an hour before we usually have when we’ve traveled just 30 minutes away. Tell me what you...

Westcott Shootout Contest

So, Westcott Lights (FJWESTCOTT.com) was at the Photoshop World Expo with all these models for us to take pictures of because they were showing off how nice their lights are. But, to go along with all that, they have this contest that we could enter to see who took the best photo during the expo. This one is mine. What do you think?  Edited – Text...

Happy Mothers Day

Posted in 4 - Misc | 0 comments

To all the mothers who have made our lives possible; we thank you, and we love you more than you can ever imagine. Of all the things that could ever be said, it will always come out as, “We Love You!” On a personal note to my own mother, if I may. I want you to know how much I love you and how grateful I am for all that you do for me and how you have always been there to support me, encourage me, and put me in my place. I love you, forever!...

Josh asked me to tag along with him because he needed a photograph to paint and I was the one with camera. Josh had to have certain objects or requirements for this assignment so he pretty much set everything up, I was just the camera man. However, I was making suggestions of what he could do and this skeleton hand came into the picture was about when we were both about out of ideas of...

I accepted of course because I had been wanting to go out and take some photos for a while. Because of the dirty winter here in Rexburg, we decided to do some grunge/brick backgrounds. Josh really like the brick on this one so we got a few poses here.Editing:I did a few...

Extreme Photoshop – TIME Magazine

Isn’t it About Time? | Time Magazine Cover This was a lot of fun putting together! This is a picture of my grandmother in her “Biker Babe Sunglasses,” as she puts it, but only allowed me to take the picture under the condition that I removed all imperfections. So, that’s what happened. I did the TIME Magazine cover and my awesome friend, Kris Fryer, did the fantastic makeover in photoshop. Makeover or Perfection? | Plastic Surgery I have to give 100% credit to Kris Fryer for doing all the Photoshop work on this. It took about 5 hours to complete – and I sat...
